However, it is not just the fans who have dream matches, but also the wrestlers themselves have a certain set of wrestlers they want to work with. It can either be their inspirations, or some fellow wrestler they have a lot of respect for. Getting a personal dream match is tough for a wrestler, but many times their wish gets fulfilled.

The Undertaker is one of the most influential and iconic figures in the history of wrestling. Thus, it isn't a surprise that many wrestlers' dream opponent was The Undertaker. One of those wrestlers was Bray Wyatt.

Wyatt and Undertaker both have a dark character which helped Wyatt get his dream match quickly, as he faced 'Taker at WrestleMania 31, not even 2 years after the Bray Wyatt character debuted on the WWE main roster. Even though the match wasn't very good and Wyatt lost, he was more than happy facing his childhood hero.

Drew McIntyre's WWE career has been one hell of a roller coaster. From being proclaimed a future World Champion by Vince McMahon on SmackDown in 2009, to being released by that same owner in 2014, McIntyre had seen it all.

Ever since Bobby Lashley arrived on the scene, comparisons have been drawn between him and Brock Lesnar. Both wrestlers have had incredible physiques throughout their careers, and the two also spent time in MMA. Lashley wanted this match for a very long time.

Since he returned to WWE in 2018, he'd talked about his intentions to face Lesnar in many interviews. WWE finally decided to bless Lashley and all the fans, as they booked a match between Lashley and Lesnar at Royal Rumble 2022. The two faced each other again at Crown Jewel 2022. However, they haven't had the perfect match fans had been waiting for.

Becky Lynch grew up in an era where female wrestling wasn't given as much importance as today. Lita is among the female wrestlers who wrestled in that era and set the stage for the eventual "women's evolution".

This is the match which was most unlikely to happen from this list. Steve Austin had to retire from professional wrestling before expected in 2003, due to injuries. Despite his career being cut short, Austin had inspired many people during his time.

One of those wrestlers was Kevin Owens, which doesn't come off as a surprise, as Owens' character is very Austin-esque. Furthermore, he also started using the Stunner as his finisher in 2019. Owens got his wish out of nowhere, when Austin returned to the ring to fight him at WrestleMania 38. Even though Owens lost the match, it was definitely one of the best moments of his career, which he will never forget.

5 AJ Styles Vs. Edge - WWE WrestleMania 38 Night Two

Edge is a legend of the business, and many wrestlers wanted to face him. However, Edge was forced to retire in 2011 due to issues with his neck, and many potential dream matches seemed impossible. Fans paired Edge with different wrestlers in imaginary scenarios and wanted him back badly.

Edge finally returned to wrestling in 2020. One of the wrestlers who wanted to face Edge very desperately was AJ Styles. Styles expressed his wish to face Edge across multiple interviews. In fact, WWE also teased the match as there was an interaction between the two at Royal Rumble 2020. Styles finally got his wish at WrestleMania 38. They had a match at WrestleMania Backlash too.

Jeff Hardy vs. Darby Allin was a very obvious dream match which people wanted to see, due to the similarities between the two wrestlers. Jeff Hardy's AEW run isn't as good as expected, but one of the positives from the run was that we got the dream match against Darby.

Darby revealed in an interview that he admired Jeff Hardy in his childhood, and it was a dream of his to face Jeff. He didn't expect the dream match to happen so quick, as he faced Jeff in a match in 2022 itself. Facing Jeff was definitely one of the best moments of Darby Allin's career so far.

3 Eddie Kingston Vs. Jun Akiyama - AEW Full Gear 2022 - Zero Hour

Another AEW match on the list is one which happened last year between Eddie Kingston and Jun Akiyama. Akiyama has been a long-time hero of Kingston, and a match with him was Kingston's dream.

Kingston had been trying to get the match for a number of years. He was happy even after facing one of Akiyama's students, Konosuke Takeshita. He finally got the match with his hero at the pre-show of AEW Full Gear 2022, where he defeated Jun Akiyama.

As previously mentioned, there were multiple wrestlers who wanted to face Edge. Another name who was successful in getting his wish is Finn Balor. Edge and Balor were initially part of the Judgment Day faction, but Balor betrayed Edge alongside Damien Priest and Rhea Ripley.

Amidst their feud, Balor talked about a potential match with Edge in an interview. He said that he was dying for a match with Edge. Balor got his wish when it was announced he'd face the Rated-R Superstar in a Hell in a Cell Match at WrestleMania 39.
