10 His Father Is Former Hockey Player Ted Irvine

The success in Chris Jericho’s family didn’t start with him, in fact, he has sporting success in his blood. Jericho’s father is former NHL winger, Ted Irvine, who carved out a career playing for the likes of the Los Angeles Kings and the New York Rangers.

His career earned him a spot in the Manitoba Hockey Hall Of Fame, in addition to being ranked among the top 100 players to have ever worn the New York Rangers jersey.

9 Married For 22 Years

In the year 2000, Chris Jericho got married to Jessica Lockhart, with this marking their 22nd year of marriage. In that time, the pair have had three children - Ash, their son, along with twin daughters, Sierra and Cheyenne.

Jericho isn’t somebody who keeps his family overly private, with them often appearing on his Instagram account, with him proudly showing off his loved ones to the world.

8 Worked In McDonalds (Sort Of)

Chris Jericho has appeared on several reality TV shows, one of which was Celebrity Duets, which was one of Simon Cowell’s many musical TV ventures, though it would only last for one season.

Jericho was part of a skit in the lead-up to the show, in which he practiced his singing abilities whilst working in a McDonalds. It was quite a random bit, with the whole McDonalds part not really serving any purpose, with the majority of his time there seeing him sign autographs in the drive-thru.

7 His Acting Career

Much like many other professional wrestlers, Chris Jericho has dipped his toes into the acting world. Whilst he hasn’t really been a part of any huge box office successes, he has found himself acting in a fair few movies.

His appearances have included Sharknado 3, Android Apocalypse, and MacGruber.Even in 2022, Jericho has still managed to appear in the odd film here and there, including horror comedy KillRoy Was Here, and most recently Terrifier 2.

It is always important to have a “plan b” when it comes to pursuing a career in sports and entertainment, and whilst Jericho has made a name for himself in the business enough to the point where he doesn’t need to fall back on anything, he did have some other avenues in case things fell through early on.

In 1990, Jericho graduated from the Red River College with a diploma in creative communication, with this offering up a potential path to other careers.

5 Dual Canadian & American Citizenship

Both of Jericho’s parents are Canadian, but due to his father playing for the New York Rangers, he was actually born in New York. After a little while, following his father’s retirement, they moved over to Winnipeg in Canada.

These circumstances allowed Jericho to hold a dual American-Canadian citizenship, which is why he often claims to have multiple hometowns.

4 Lead Singer For Fozzy

In terms of other careers, Jericho’s most prominent outside of professional wrestling is in the music industry. Jericho is the lead singer of heavy metal band Fozzy, who have experienced quite a bit of success over the years.

The band would have a couple of charted songs here and there, with “Judas” being their most successful and highest charted single. Several of Fozzy’s songs have been used as theme tunes for various wrestling shows too, mixing both of Jericho’s two main professions.

3 Used To Have His Own Radio Show

Jericho’s music career has opened up several more doors for him over the years. During his early days in wrestling, he would also write a column for Metal Edge on the side. After achieving some success with Fozzy, he was also given the chance to run his own radio show.

During the stretch in which he would leave WWE for the first time, Jericho ran a show called The Rock Of Jericho. Interestingly, nearly two decades since he had this show, Jericho recently applied for the trademark for The Rock Of Jericho.

2 Appeared On Dancing With The Stars

Jericho is someone who clearly thrives in the spotlight, with this leading him to yet another reality tv competition appearance, this time on the hit show, Dancing With The Stars, which gave him a good boost in notoriety following his brief absence from professional wrestling.

Jericho would team up with Cheryl Burke, with the pair’s best dance coming when they performed a Viennese Waltz, gaining a score 26 - which was only four points off reaching a perfect score. Jericho would only last until week 6 though, when he was finally eliminated.
