The numerous singles, tag and multi-person matches that take place on a wrestling card are not only what drives the action of a wrestling event, but it is what brings fans to attend the show. Without a compelling card of matches, fans would simply not be interested in a show - be that in WWE, WCW, AEW or any company. However, the unpredictability of a wrestling show can lead to attention shifting focus from the action in the ring to something else entirely.

Considering that wrestling is like a live theatre event, things can sometimes occur - whether they are planned in advance or not - that are more interesting than the action inside the ring at times. Whether it is an unannounced appearance of a wrestler or an unplanned circumstance, the live nature of a wrestling event leads itself to give fans multiple things to pay attention to.
10 Scott Hall Arrives In WCW
One of the biggest shots during the Monday Night War was fired in 1996 during an episode of Monday Nitro. However, most fans forget that it took place in the middle of a match on the show because few were paying attention to the in-ring action.
During a match between Steve Doll and The Mauler, Scott Hall appeared in WCW and came through the crowd. Appearing like a WWE invader on WCW turf, Hall interrupted the match and cut a promo announcing his arrival. Few fans remember the match, but most remember this monumental appearance.
9 Lance Storm Is Boring
Regarding wrestlers that excel with technical prowess, Lance Storm is at the top of the list. However, one of Storm's greatest criticisms has always been his minimal charisma, which became part of his gimmick. Unfortunately, this part of his gimmick was taken a little bit too far during his final run in WWE.

During an episode of RAW in 2003 against Garrison Cade, "Stone Cold" Steve Austin took it upon himself to come to ringside during Storm's match to declare Storm the most boring wrestler he had ever seen. Austin even went so far as to bring a pillow to the ring and be put to sleep during the match, which only served to hurt Storm's credibility as a wrestler.
8 Trish Stratus Watches T&A
While WWE's former B-shows like Sunday Night Heat were not always the most watched programming, it did feature the debut of one of the most prolific females in all of WWE history. Fans may not have known who Trish Stratus was in March of 2000, but they sure took notice.
During both Test and Albert's matches during that episode of Heat, Trish scouted them from the rampway and drew plenty of attention. Following her unannounced appearance, she brought the two wrestlers together to form a new tag team named T&A.
7 Enzo Amore At Survivor Series 2018
Former employees of WWE try their best to remain relevant after they have left the company by either joining other companies or staying involved in the wrestling business in some positive way. Unfortunately, Enzo Amore did not get that memo and decided to make an impact in wrestling in one of the worst ways possible.

During Survivor Series 2018, Enzo Amore joined the crowd and tried his best to remove attention from the in-ring action and hijack the show. Enzo stood on his chair and drew attention towards himself during a match with the Authors of Pain and The Bar, which only succeeded in getting himself escorted out and banned from the arena.
6 WrestleMania 23 Streaker
There is no denying that fans love being a part of the action at wrestling events, particularly at WrestleMania. While this is normally accomplished by chanting things at wrestlers to get their opinions across, a fan at WrestleMania 23 had different plans.
Right before the main event between John Cena and Shawn Michaels for the WWE Championship could begin, a fan jumped over the barricade in the nude and began streaking around the ring. The fan was quickly escorted out of the building (and was even waved goodbye by Shawn Michaels), but it was certainly a distraction for the entire audience.
5 Cesaro And The Beach Ball
Wrestling crowds that are into the action can be some of the most uproarious and vocal crowds in WWE history. While this can sometimes lead to great moments of crowd involvement in the show, sometimes it becomes too much and distracts from the show.
At SummerSlam 2017 during The Bar's Tag Team Championship defence against Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose, Cesaro noticed fans hitting a beach ball in the crowd. To remove the distraction, Cesaro jumped over the barricade and ripped the ball apart with his bare hands.
4 Shawn Michaels With The Canadian Flag
In 1997, there were few wrestlers who were more hated than Shawn Michaels and even fewer that were more beloved than Bret Hart. Leading up to their infamous match at Survivor Series 1997, they also involved Canada in their feud, as Hart was even more beloved in his home country.

However, Michaels was hell-bent on getting everyone to hate him and he took it to the extreme by desecrating the Canadian flag. During a match between Triple H and Bret Hart, Michaels brought the flag to the ring with him and proceeded to put it in his nose at ringside, leading the Canadian audience to breathe fire at him.
3 Stacy Keibler Dances
Stacy Keibler is bound to turn heads whenever she makes a public appearance, but she certainly knew how to catch everyone's eye during her WWE career. As a valet, it was her job to get the crowd involved during matches, but when she arrived unscheduled, everyone paid attention.
During a July 2003 episode of RAW, she appeared at the top of the stage while Test was wrestling Booker T. In order to get back at Test for mistreating her, she proceeded to give Scott Steiner a lap dance, which instantly made the crowd pay attention to her instead of the action inside the ring.
2 The Mega Powers Explode
When it comes to star power, there was no bigger tag team than The Mega Powers. When Hulk Hogan and "The Macho Man" Randy Savage teamed together, they dominated the main event scene and seemed poised for a long run. However, the group did not last when egos and jealousy came between them.
During The Main Event 2 in 1989, Hogan and Savage were teaming against The Twin Towers when Miss Elizabeth was hurt on the outside of the ring. Savage continued wrestling, but Hogan tended to Elizabeth and helped medical personnel take her backstage, while fans focused on her instead of the match. Ultimately, this led to Hogan and Savage falling out and their match at WrestleMania 5.
1 Jerry Lawler's Heart Attack
When real life blurs into the world of professional wrestling, it can be difficult to suss out what is real or not. However, things became a little bit too real during the September 10th, 2012 episode of Monday Night RAW.
In the middle of the show, Jerry "The King" Lawler collapsed at the announce table on live television after suffering a heart attack. While it was not addressed on camera at the time, Michael Cole was visibly shaken and upset while he continued to call the match alone, and the crowd in attendance was no longer paying attention to the match but were instead concerned as Lawler was tended to.
