When Pink released the 2016 anthem, "Just Like Fire" for the movie "Alice Through the Looking Glass," the overall theme of empowerment and individuality was clear. In an interview with People, Pink revealed that the track was inspired by her daughter Willow, who was just 4 years old at the time. "She's my inspiration for everything," she said. "I think of little girls like her when I'm doing something like this ... I think of that spirit Willow has, where she's totally uninhibited and wants to dance around naked, and that's how I go into the song."
Pink added that she and Willow attended an early screening of "Alice Through the Looking Glass," and said, "What's awesome about 'Alice' is the whole theme, from the start of the movie, is: Girls can do it, too. She's the captain of her own ship, but it takes her femaleness to be that fierce." Pink concluded that she's always trying to give her daughter that sense of empowerment.
And Pink's inspiration got to stay close during the making of the "Just Like Fire" music video, as Willow got to feature in it as a little girl enchanted by a blue butterfly, following it through the looking glass (via YouTube). It seems it was an entire family project, as Willow's father Carey Hart is also briefly featured at the beginning and end of the video.
