Wrestling shows during the holiday season can often be a lot of fun. WWE often puts a lot of effort into them, whether it be Raw, SmackDown, or a special event that is around that time. The company knows fans are in a great mood, spending time with family, and they often look to capitalize on that with a good product.

There are usually themed matches, whether that be something to do with Christmas food, or Santa Claus himself. While these shows might not always be the most serious, they suit the tone of the time and that is what makes them so much fun to watch.

10 Friday Night SmackDown (12/24/21)

A recent holiday episode of WWE took place on the blue brand, and WWE stacked the show with a lot of fun moments. Kicking off with a SmackDown Women's Championship match between Charlotte Flair and Toni Storm was a great way to start a show.

But WWE dedicated the majority of the two hours to a 12 Days Of Christmas Gauntlet Match, which showcased some fantastic wrestling. Then it finished with a classic Miracle On 34th Street Fight, which is a real staple of WWE's holiday shows.

9 Prime Time Wrestling (12/25/89)

Roddy Piper Vs Santa Claus

Anytime you get a wrestling show based around Roddy Piper trying to defend the honor of Santa Claus, you know the chances are it will be a lot of fun. That's exactly what this episode of Prime Time Wrestling was, light-hearted and enjoyable.

On top of that, there were a couple of enjoyable matches for fans to watch. From Jimmy Snuka facing Randy Savage in the main event to Bret Hart battling Greg Valentine. Combining them all, it ended up being a fun episode of wrestling television.

8 Friday Night SmackDown (12/25/20)

This episode of SmackDown aired on Christmas Day, and it was certainly unique due to the fact it was in the ThunderDome. However, while there were no fans, WWE still put on an amazing show. This episode had a steel cage match between Roman Reigns and Kevin Owens, which was brilliant.

Meanwhile, Daniel Bryan and Jey Uso had a competitive match as well. However, this event was best remembered for Big E becoming Intercontinental Champion, which was the perfect Christmas celebration to end the show.

7 Monday Night Raw (12/23/13)

This show was good festive fun, and it truly had something for everybody on the card. From great wrestling to story progression and development, a lot was going on here. The main event saw The Shield take on John Cena, CM Punk, and Big E Langston, in what was an enjoyable six-man tag.

Meanwhile, The Wyatt Family also battled Daniel Bryan and The Rhodes Brothers. Plus, there were Christmas-related shenanigans as Mark Henry fought Damien Sandow in what was Good Santa vs. Bad Santa, which was WWE Christmas madness at its best.

6 Monday Night Raw (12/25/17)

John Cena returns on Christmas Day Cropped

In 2017, WWE decided to tape a live episode of Monday Night Raw on Christmas Day. Of course, this was filled with festive moments. WWE gave us a Miracle On 34th Street Fight and a Secret Santa handicap match, while the show began with the return of John Cena.

Roman Reigns and Samoa Joe also battled for the Intercontinental Championship on this episode, which was a great encounter. While the main event saw the Raw Tag Team Titles on the line as The Bar faced Seth Rollins and Jason Jordan.

5 Day 1 (2022)

Day 1 is the most recent show to take place around the holiday season, with this entire PPV being built around the New Year. The idea here was it kicked off the year with a fresh start, and WWE brought a strong PPV to make that happen.

The show featured some exciting matches, including a brilliant fatal five-way main event that saw Brock Lesnar become WWE Champion. The card had other fun matches too, with The Usos and The New Day putting on a tag team clinic in the opener.

4 Monday Night Raw (12/24/12)

Only in the world of WWE would a show begin with Santa Claus being run over. It was a mad moment, but it gained huge heat on Alberto Del Rio and perfectly set up a story throughout the night. In the end, John Cena was on hand to win a Miracle On 34th Street Fight in the main event, with a little help from the big man himself.

On top of that, Kane battled Cody Rhodes, and there were a couple of exciting tag team encounters. While Sheamus and Big Show also put together a brilliant lumberjack match, which was filled with exciting moments.

3 Monday Night Raw (12/24/01)

This was another excellent Christmas Eve episode of Monday Night Raw that had a lot to offer. There were plenty of holiday-themed moments within this one, including Tajiri wrestling Bubba Ray Claus, with both men dressed up.

WWE also had a lot of fun backstage moments on this night. There were holiday parties taking place, and WWE made the most of the brilliant personalities on the roster at the time. Plus, a main event featuring Chris Jericho, Kurt Angle, and The Rock is never going to hurt a show.

2 Monday Night Raw (12/22/97)

A combination of Christmas and the Attitude Era created an amazing episode of Monday Night Raw in 1997, which is one everybody should check out. It has the usual madness of that period, with sprinkling moments of festive fun.

D-Generation X is their best on this show, cutting a hilarious promo on the roster. They then unveiled a Christmas message in a way only they know-how. Meanwhile, Steve Austin ends up hitting a stunner on Santa Claus himself. Austin is DTA even when it comes to Saint Nicholas.

1 Armageddon (2008)

There was only one holiday-related match on this show, and that was an eight-woman Santa's Little Helper match. The less said about that one, the better. However, the PPV itself was brilliant. Taking place in the middle of December, spirits were high for the fans.

This show features several brilliant matches. John Cena and Chris Jericho have a fun encounter, while CM Punk and Rey Mysterio have a terrific encounter. But it is the main event and Jeff Hardy's WWE Championship win that steals the show and made this a great event.
